LAURA AVERY

LAURA MURPHY AVERY SUMNER

(CONSTANCE McCASHIN):

RICHARD AVERY�s and, from Season 7, GREG SUMNER�s wife. She had two sons with the first, JASON and DANIEL, and one daughter with the second, MEG. A PITTSBURGH, Massachussets native, her adoptive mother died when she was twelve, and she had to get a job to keep up her family.

After graduating, she met RICHARD and, after getting married, agreed to quit college to help him to finish Law. LAURA�s married life got worse until, years later, he went through a crisis at work and emotionally too, and she had to take a job at an estate agency. Their multiple infidelities almost made the couple break up. But the relationship was elonged because of her new unplanned pregnancy.

Finally, RICHARD abandoned her, leaving her alone with two little kids. Later on, LAURA would marry GREG SUMNER, and hit it big in business as co-owner of LOTUS POINT. However, things ended badly for the couple, since LAURA had a brain tumor that killed her in a few months� time. At the end GREG left his daughter MEG at the MACKENZIES� household, but they were about to lose her custody when the child�s natural grandmother came up. Before dying, LAURA recorded a tape where she said goodbye to family and friends from KNOTS LANDING.

MACK MACKENZIE

MARION PATRICK MACKENZIE

(KEVIN DOBSON):

KAREN�s second husband, ANNE MATHESON�s first love and her daughter PAIGE�s natural father. Besides, he and KAREN adopted MEG SUMNER and abused teenager JASON LOCHNER.

Born in NEW YORK, motherless, his father used to beat him, as happened to JASON. MACK decided to become a lawyer and, he met GREG and ANNE in college. However her wealthy father made them apart, before knowing she was pregnant, and made him believe he had bribed him to keep him away. 25 years later. PAIGE came up at KNOTS LANDING to meet her dad and tell him the truth...and a package of lies too.

As much honest and faithful as SID was, MACK had a long-lasting but difficult friendship with GREG, and resisted the temps other women were, as JILL, ANNE or PAULA. MACK also co-starred in the KL Epilogue Mini-series. His youth character was re-created by actor DOUG SAVANT.





LILIMAE CLEMMENS

(JULIE HARRIS):

VAL and JOSHUA�s mother, VIRGINIA and JUNE�s sister, and JEREMIAH�s widow. Her biggest dream was succeed as a country singer, even if she had to lose her family.

Her relationship with VAL took many years to recover, until she appeared in KNOTS LANDING. It was then when the old ghosts re-emerged and LILIMAE discovered that she had been responsible for VAL being separated from LUCY. After some time away from her family, she re-appeared when she stopped a theft in a LOS ANGELES park. A little later, she was arrested for stealing a scarf at a store and GARY engaged to welcome her in his house.

Years later some secret kins complicated her life, as did JOSHUA, born from her affair with preacher JONATHAN RUSH. She hit-and-runned sheming CHIP, obliging VAL to get her mother in a sanitarium, and, later on, LILIMAE was also involved in his son�s violent death.

LILIMAE left KNOTS LANDING along with AL BAKER, an old friend of MACK�s who invited her to drive around the country in a van.

GREG AND PAIGE
