GREG SUMNER

GREGORY SUMNER GALVESTON

(WILLIAM DEVANE):

LAURA�s second husband, who fathered her daughter MEG, and PAIGE MATHESON�s greatest love. She was also married to PAIGE�s mother, ANNE, and to JANE, who had given birth to her daughter MARY FRANCES.

GREG was born in N.Y., natural son of PAUL GALVESTON and RUTH SUMNER. She was very close to his supposed father, a pilot who was killed at the Korean War. He competed with his college mate MACK for the likes of fanciful ANNE. Finally he married JANE and entered the politics, first at the L.A. Town Hall and then as a State Senator.

GREG had an extramarital affair with ABBY, won the Election for Senate, and JANE asked for a divorce though, by then, he was already in love with LAURA. PAUL GALVESTON then appeared for GREG to run his company Empire Valley, but he denied to and, when he died, PAUL left it to GARY EWING. Greg�s mother, RUTH, convinced him to take charge of the Galveston Industries, that he re-named THE SUMNER GROUP.

After LAURA�s death, he gave up his daughter�s custody to the MACKENZIES and enlivened his career, marrying ABBY and hiring his lover PAIGE. She held an uneven relationship with the latter, overcoming ANNE�s intrusions. At long last, PAIGE and GREG became a couple, but his refusal to have more children caused their final separation. This character was played by JOSHUA DEVANE in several flashbacks. GREG also co-starred in the REUNION KL Mini-series.

PAIGE MATHESON

(NICOLLETTE SHERIDAN):

ANNE MATHESON�s and her first love MACK�s only daughter. Her existence was unknown in KL until, at 19, PAIGE came up determined to meet her natural father.

She spent her lonely childhood traveling around with her millionaire grandparents, until they settled down in N.Y. She was put into a Swiss boarding school and studied Art History. After facing her family, she faked her death and lived of jewel pawning. The lies continued when she stayed at the MACKENZIES, and later on she got a job at LOTUS POINT.

Her entrance at the SUMNER GROUP became controversial since everybody knew her relationship with GREG. Other lovers of PAIGE�s were Senador PETER HOLLISTER, corrupt cop TOM RYAN or psycho PIERCE LAWTON, who just were endlessly troublemakers for her. PAIGE only appeared in one scene of the REUNION, breaking her ties with GREG.
