| 11-06-08 Here is the Red Dog outside the Yorkie pen on a short doubled chain that he can get caught in. Fence was added to make the pen taller, but the dog was still chained and got out some other way. He was left there during a chilly night, with rain the next day. No shelter. |
| 1-17-09 This dog's cable gets caught on the fence he goes under, and he can't get into his box. The low temp was minus 14. His box faces into the wind, and we've had a wind chill factor of minus 15 earlier this winter. The straw is new; I think the humane officer brought it. |
| 1-25-09 Red Dog has escaped from the Yorkie pen to court the little cream-colored female on the right. She's been running loose for weeks. I call her Creamy. The tan dog with dark saddle is challenging Red Dog while Creamy eggs him on. It was looking bad, but Red walked away. |

| 1-25-09 The 6X8 chain link pen is behind the "fence." Notice that the gate cannot be used. Black and tan dog has climbed out of pen and is in danger of falling off his perch and hanging, which he did two days later. I call him Shorty. He was in the dog fight on the next page. |
| 1-25-09 Bubblegum and Star in the same pen, tethered and tangled. Bubblegum was loose the night before, and must have been put in the pen. Owners came home today, fed dogs, and left again, without fixing this situation! They got a lot friendly soon after. Star in heat, too? Neither dog can get to dog house. Didn't see Bubblegum the next day, but Star still couldn't reach her house. Slept outdoors for several days, while we had a winter storm of snow-freezing rain-snow. Why would they keep her out of her house? |
