| 6-29-08 Later, this tan pup got hung up on the fence. He looks like he's just standing there, but he can't get down. He got very tired, but would swing in his collar if he took his feet off the fence. He was there over an hour, not saying a word. He was finally rescued, with great difficulty. |
| 6-29-08 No photo, but in one of the pens, there were puppies with a small plastic crate for shelter. It was totally useless, and with the wind, they were getting soaked. Black plastic over the pens got so full of rainwater that it was threatening to smash those poor little guys. |
| 10-26-08 The Mrs. constructed these pens in the summer. They're too small and too low, and the dogs have little room to move around, and live in their excrement. There are no gates, and food is flung through the fence; water poured over or sloshed through. Because the dogs can climb out, they are tethered, which puts them at great risk for hanging and injuries. I often see dogs standing on, or hung up on these fences, like the one pictured above. Very dangerous. Can someone tell me what the fences are for? |
| 10-26-08 The back of this box is gone, and some of the side boards. It was later repaired by leaning a piece of plywood against the back of the roof, leaving a gap. Chloe had to use it until her owner brought her a new one, complete with paint and shingles. (Chloe is a boarder.) She's lying to the right of it here. Notice that she can get wound around the trees, and not be able to get to the box. Another dog used this box during the winter. |
| Early December, 2008 Star's puppies have escaped. Star has got out of her pen by jumping on the box, where she spends a lot of time. But now she has jumped off the side and is stuck. Can't seem to get back up. The Cream-colored dog is a female from the spring litter. I haven't seen her since February '09. The tan dog with a dark saddle standing there, may be from the 2007 litter. His fence is ruined now, and he goes in and out underneath it, often getting caught so that he has to sleep on the ground. |

| 6-29-08 This is Chloe in the rain. We've just had a bad storm. She got out of her pen and couldn't get back in. She tried! She's frightened of the thunder and lightning, and very wet. The brown dog has no shelter to begin with. |
