| I would like to express my deep gratitude to the beautiful and creative souls who were my friends and colleagues in the Hamburg/ Germany and Basel/Switzerland produc- tions of Das Phantom der Oper. From 1993 to 1998 Stella Musical Productions engaged me in the roles of Raoul Vicomte de Chagny and Phantom at the Neue Flora Theater in Hamburg. In 1997 I was fortu- nate to make three guest appearances as Phantom in Basel. During this five-year period I was privileged to work with some of the finest technicians, make-up artists, dressers, singers, dancers, musicians, costume designers and stage manage- ment of the German musical world. I owe all of you my respect and thanks. Many of us were miles away from home and family. We became a family. Each night we at- tempted to bring an elaborate stage pro- duction and heart-wrenching story to the stage. This challange was sometimes met with success and other times with torn inseams, ten-second microphone chang- es and copious amounts of reperative make-up glue. We shared good and bad times. We grew as people and our lives were changed forever by our experiences. My thoughts and memories will always turn to you. To those whose lives were directly affected by the tragedies in New York City, Wa- shington D.C., and Pennsylvania on Sep- tember 11, 2001, my prayers are with you. Peace, 9.15.01 |
