424 Michael WITMER, b. c1668, d. c1763, m. (wife unknown) In 1733, on
the ship "Hope of London", Daniel Reid, Master, arrived at
Philadelphia the latter part of August, and on the 28th of August the elder
brothers took the oath of abjuration and threat of allegiance to the British
Crown. They were natives of the Canton of Zurich, Switzerland, and members of
the Reformed faith. The history of Lebanon Co., PA, states that there were four
brothers. In HOUSE-HOUZE Family of Frederick Co., MD, there is a
different story. It states that Michael WITTMER, age 65y (b. about 1668),
was accompanied by three sons; a forth son preceded him and came in 1732. They
were Mennonites by religion. The will of Michael was probated in Lancaster Co.,
in 1763. Michael WITMER and Jacob Sensening were the first settlers in
Earl Twp, Lancaster Co., and there is a record of a deed patent "from
William Penn to Jacob Sensening, dated 1734 for lands adjoining Michael WITMER.

424.1 Michael WITMER, d. 1764, buried Witmer Cemetery, nr. Harrisburg, PA, in 1739, m. Barbara _____? Michael m. 2nd. in 1762, a SENSENING in 1762. He arrived in Philadelphia in 1732. He died prior to 1778. His grave is 50 miles west of Philadelphia. (FH11, PALEB1,p257) Children:
