240.3c Lewis TABLER, (incorrectly identified as s/o of Lewis in MDFRB12 p1136, 1539), b. 28 Jun 1781, Jefferson District, Frederick Co., MD, d. 4 Aug 1847, age 67, m. 28 Sep 1805, Frederick Co., MD, Mary Catherine LEATHER, b. 9 Mar 1789, d. 6 Sep 1867. Lewis TABLER was in Montgomery Co., MD in 1820; in Frederick Co, MD, in 1830, 1850, and 1860. Soon after his marriage, he migrated to Hyattstown, Montgomery Co., MD with his parents. He purchased in the lower end of town 15a of land and a tavern, where he manufactured whiskey. Later, he farmed in Urbana District, Frederick Co. In 1850 Mary was widow with sons Abraham, John H., Isreal, and Andrew J., all farmers, in the household. They were members of the Methodist Episcopal Church. KNOTT of Urbana, b. 15 Feb 1872,  d/o Francis KNOTT (a blacksmith and wheelwright), d. 7 Nov 1833. John was a stockholder in the First National Bank of Monrovia, owns 287 3/4 acres of land, part of "Lost and Found" tract on which he build a new house in 1906 and a barn in 1905. He enlisted in Capt. George Chissell's Company, 35th. VA Cav., E. V. White's command, CAS. In 1874 he went to CA, then to KS, farmed, but dissatified came back to MD. At the death of his father, he bought his farm. He was a member of the Methodist Protestant Church, and the Confederate Veteran Association of Frederick. He, Frances, and dau. By 1880, he is listed as a husckster living in Urbana, Frederick Co., MD, and the name of is wife is Ida, b. c1854, MD. Apparently his first wife d. bet. 1870 and 1880. At this time, there is no indication as to which wife is the mother of the children.  In 1910, he was farming in Frederick Co., MD. George, wife, Ida, and son Marion are buried in Mt. Olivet Cem., Frederick, MD. Catherine, the first wife, is buried Hyattstown Methodisth Cem. (MDFRB12, p1136,1539, MDFR9, 12, 13) Children:

He kept a tavern and hotel  in Hyattstown in 1870, but traded the tavern with his brother, Ezra for a farm, and later went back to keeping a tavern. In his lifetime, he made 4 trips to the Pacific coast. He was member of the Methodist Episcopal Church. He and Martha Jane are buried in Hyattstown Methodist Cem., Hyattstown. In 1920, Andrew is living with daughter, Mary C. BURDETTE in Hyattstown. He and 2  wives are buried in Mt. Olivet Cem., Frederick, Frederick Co., MD. Delila is buried in Lawson Family Cem., Brownsville, MD. (MDFRB12 p12.17,1539, MDFR2, 9, 10) He had 10 children by his first wife; not all are known. Children:
