Both are buried in the Myers Family Cemetery, Sprinkles Mill, along the Opequon. In the tax years of 1782-1787, he paid tax on 2 pole 0 slaves in Berkeley Co., VA. John MYERS purchased his father's home plantation on the Opequon on 16 Apr 1792 (Berkeley Co. Deed Book 18 p148), where he raised his family. During the Revolutionary War, he supplied wheat to the Continental Army and was paid for services on 20 May 1781. He and his children owned about 1300 acres of land in Berkeley Co., WV. John bought land from his brother George MYERS for 500 pounds. (VAB11, WVBE4 Book 18 p148, WVBEB7 p106-108, 16 p97,119) Children:

He deeded land for the Reformed Church of Martinsburg in the 1840s. The church cemetery is located on Church and John Street. The mill operated until about 1930.  Jacob MYERS was nominated by the Governor of Virginia as a fit person to be Justice of the Pearce. In 1850 Jacob was a farmer living in Berkeley Co., VA, with Rebecca Rhineberger, 40, is living in the household. They lived in a stone house on the Opequon built by John MYERS. Col. Jacob received the title from his participation in the VA Militia. NOTE: Picture of Jacob and Sallie MYERS at SR: WVBEB7 p106-108.
