32.6-Hanson Thomas MORROW, b. 4 Mar 1814, Frederick Co., MD, s/o James and Sarah HARTSOCK MORROW, d. 8 Feb 1895, Canton, Lewis Co., MO, m. 4 Feb 1840 (MOLE8), Lewis Co., Jane A. BROWN, d/o Jacob BROWN (and sister of Sarah BROWN who m. Asbury MORROW), d. 5 Aug 1889, Canton, MO. Both are buried in Forest Grove Cemetery, Canton, MO (O2). Hanson left VA before 1840. He appears in the Clark Co., MO, in 1840, married, and living a few houses away from F. B. S. MORROW, his younger brother (OHCL1, MOLE1-4). by 1850, they had moved to Lewis Co., MO, in the vicinity of Canton. In the census records his occupation is listed as farmer. In his obituary, he is described as a pioneer citizen of Lewis Co., and member of the M. E. Church South, for 50 years. (MONP10-23 Feb 1895, 9 Aug 1899) Children:

32.6b-Jacob Brown BROWN, b. 9 Mar 1853, Clark Co., MO, d. 22 Nov 1882, Lewis Co., MO, buried MORROW Cemetery, 4 miles s. w. of Canton, MO, m. 23 Feb 1865 (MOLE8), Lewis Co., MO, Mary Elizabeth BROWN, b. 10 Jul 1845, Lewis Co., d. 29 May 1930, Anadarka, OK, buried Apache, OK. Jacob was member of the M. E. Church South, a farmer, who died from an accident on the farm. Two children died in infancy, and daughters Mrs. J. H. CLAY, and Mrs. W. H. ELLIS, and son Thomas Legg MORROW preceded Mary Elizabeth MORROW in death. Harold Collins, a cousin of the family, and a pallbearer at Mary's funeral, told the compiler that the stones had been removed from the MORROW Cemetery (PI17). Buried there were Jacob B., Clara J., and Hanson T. MORROW, slaves Sam and Emm, and others by the name of  Marks, Ramsey, Brown, and Tallman. (MOLEB1)  Children:

32.6 Hanson T. MORROW, at his home near Canton on the afternoon of the 18th of paralysis, pioneer citizen of Lewis Co., Born in Frederick Co., MD, 4 Mar 1814, joined the Methodist Church under Rev. Fink fifty years ago and was a chartered member of the old church in Tully. (MONP10-23 Feb 1895)

32,6a (spouse) In San Diego, CA, Jan. 6th., of consumption, Mrs. Grizzella MORROW, aged 52y 6m. Last April, Mrs. MORROW went to CA in hope of restoring health, but the disease had taken too firm a grasp. She married Frank Green, by whom she had one son J. F. Green. Her second husband was Middleton S. MORROW, who also preceded her in death. By this union, there were eight children, four of whom are living. Member of M. E. Church South. Remains were brought back to Canton on Wednesday. Services at McKendree Church. (MONP10-17 Jan 1902)

Brother MORROW made a profession of religion, received in the M. E. Church South, under the ministry of Rev. James Penn, about 12 years ago. member of Mt. Moriah Church. he leaves on aged father and mother, and seven children to mourn their loss. (MONP10-1 Dec 1882)

She was b. in Lewis Co., 10 Jun 1845, d. 29 May 1930, m. J. B. MORROW. There were 8 children. Two died in infancy. Daughters Mrs. J. H. CLAY, and Mrs. W. H. ELLIS, and sons Thomas L. preceded her in death. Her husband d. in 1882. (MONP10-12 Jun 1930)
32.6b5 Jacob H. MORROW, d. 8:20, at Barnes Hospital, St. Louis. Among those honored in Jeff City at the Fifth Annual Service Award, meeting in Nov for 25y of  service with MO State Highway Dept. He and wife Julia, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary, Oct 1948. He married the former Julia DEVILBISS, 20 Oct 1898. He was member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Canton. Survivors include his widow, two sons, Stanley of St. Louis, and Carlyle of Chicago, 3 gnch., and other relatives. The body was removed to Barkley Funeral home in Canton. (MONP10-date?)

Gray. Burial Forest Grove Cemetery. Born in Lewis Co., 1 Nov; 1874, d/o Henry A. and Annette Durkee DEVILBESS. She married Jacob H. MORROW at Canton in 1898. He preceded her in death as did her twelve brothers and sisters. Surviving are two sons, Stanley A. MORROW St. Louis, Carlyle B. MORROW of Western Springs, IL, 4 gnch., and 4 grgndch. 32.6b5 Stanley MORROW: with Harold Collins, Canton, MO, 30 Jul 1983. Harold owned a hardware in Canton, and was one of the pall barers for Julia DEVILBISS MORROW, and was a nephew to her, and a cousin to her sons. He related that Satnely A. MORROW, St. Louis, d. 10 or more years ago (this was in 1980s), and had a wife Jan, three sons, one who was Stanley A. Jr., one Harold, and one other name not known. He said that Stanley was president of the Federal Land Bank. (PI17)

32.6b6 Excerpts Thomas Legg MORROW Letter,  17 May 1992. He had received information from the Purvines in Canton, MO, that showed our relationship through James and Sarah HARTSOCK MORROW. He mistakenly believed that James MORROW had migrated to MO and purchased land. I have no information that this was the case, and he had not had access to information in Maryland on James and Sarah. He copied his letter to Thomas L. MORROW Jr., Mary Alice Bartell, and Linda MORROW (Bob MORROW's wife in WA, who ran a type of MORROW Clearing House), and the Lewis Co., Historical Society. 23 Jun 1991: My father Thomas Legg MORROW b. Canton, MO 1879, d. Pullman, WA, 12 Sep 1905, two months before I was born. He came to Pullman in 1900, and m. my mother Gertie MOATS,  Jul 1903. (LE17)
