The inventory of Christopher's estate, 21 Dec 1807, in Berkeley Co., VA, included personal property of Irish linens in the amount of $45.02, may indicate he was a tailor, possibly a merchant. If this is the father of Christopher MCALLISTER (#58), the mother's name was Margaret, mentioned in another document by Christopher (#58) There are two possible children, both in the area of Berkeley Co. in this time period. Two of Benjamin's children were guardians of Christopher MCALLISTER (May 1822) which may indicate that Christopher and Benjamin were brothers. The elder Christopher had d. c1807. 116.1 Benjamin MCALLISTER d. 1807/08, Berkeley Co., VA, m. _____? _____?, living 29 Jan 1808. Two guardian accounts in Berkeley Co., VA, settled 13 Aug 1827, indicates that Benjamin had a least 2 daughters. They were the guardians of Christopher MCALLISTER (#58). Both were m. and living in Ross Co. and Pickaway Counties, OH at the time. In both cases, a John MCALLISTER was the attorney for both girls. Possibly he was a son of Benjamin. Benjamin's estate was settled 29 Jan 1808 in the amount of $403.50. John Porterfield was the administrator. The inventory of his estate includes household goods, and indicates his widow is still living. (WVBE5 p80-81) Known Children:
