460 Jacob LIGHT, d. 1762/63, in Lancaster Co., PA. the first record of Jacob is a Warrent, dated 1735/36, in Caernavon Twp., Lancaster Co., for 250 acres, just west of Churchtown, PA. Jacob was a farmer, and may have had mills on his property. He died intestate in 1762 or early 1763. Peter LIGHT, his son, requested to take over his father's land, due the fact that his older brothers did want to farms. Peter paid 1170 pounds to his brothers and sisters for their inheritance on 10 Jul and 30 Oct 1765. His wife is unknown, but his children were listed in the petition. (F11) Children:

460.1 Jacob LIGHT, b. c1722, married, Elizabeth _______, but there were no children. His land patent, dated 15 May 1770 for 235 acres, was known as "Light's Darkness". He adopted his brother John's two youngest children, and left them his entire estate in his will, dated 11 Nov 1808, proved 8 Mar 1809. (F11)

460.2 John LIGHT, b. c1724, d. 1822, m. c1745, Catherine _____. In 1773, John and Catherine disposed of their property on the Schuykill River, Coventry Twp., Chester Co., PA, at which time he and brother, Peter, bought property in Berkeley Co., VA. John stayed in Berkeley Co. 5 or 6 years, and in 1778-1779, sold his property to brother Peter. He bought land in Huntingdon Co., PA (1793), and Westmoreland Co., PA (1794). John and his sons, Peter, Jacob, and Daniel were all Revolutionary War soldiers. John LIGHT left western PA, settle in New Richmond, OH, where he died at age 98. He is buried in the village cemetery at New Richmond. His son Jacob laid out the city of New Richmond. (FH11)
