202.1b Adam HECK, b. 20 Sep 1794, d. 14 Aug 1876, age 81y 10m 20d, , in Marion Co., WV, s/o Johan Jacob and Judith (ALBRIGHT) HECK, m. 10 Mar 1818, Monongalia Co., VA, Catherine TOOTHMAN, nee VALENTINE, b. 1797 (2 Dec 1795 in death record),  d. 20 Sep 1867, age 70y 9m 28d, Paw Paw, Marion Co., WV, d/o Christopher and Phebe VALENTINE. Adam received a 6 acre land grant on Parker Run in Monongalia Co., in 1841. In 1850 and 1860 Adam was farming in Marion Co. They are buried in HECK Cemetery in Marion Co., WV. 202.1b1 Matilda HECK, b. c1819/20, VA, d. 2 Aug 1885, age 66y 8m 3d, , Monongalia Co., WV, m. 18 Apr 1839, Monongalia Co., VA, Elihu LOW, b. c1812, d. bef. 1860. Apparently there were no children. In her will she names brothers and sisters, neices and nephews. She also names three LOWS; Gustavious, Philip M., and Matilda Ann; In the 1850 census, Gustavius and Philip M., are about the same age range as Elihu, her husband and may be brothers; unsure where Matilda Ann fits in. Matilda appears alone or with relatives in the census records after 1850, (1860-1880) probably indicating that Elihu LOW had died before 1860. WILL (WVMIB7, WVMNB7, WVMN6-9)

J. Garrett, 20 Apr 1854, Marion Co., VA, Sarah Ann NICHOLS, b. 2 Apr 1825 (1826 other record), Monongalia Co., VA, d. 19 Mar 1864, age 39, Marion Co., WV, d/o Henry and Nancy (CLELLAND) NICHOLS. In 1870- throu 1880, Sarah Ann, is a widower living in Fairmont, Marion Co. In 1880, Susan CLELLAND 63, b. PA, a cousin is living in her household. They are buried in Barracksville Baptist Cemetery, Marion Co., WV. Of the children, Sarah (a), and James G. (b), may be the children of the first wife, Elizabeth, according to the cemetery stones. Jan 1849, d. 8 Jan 1924, Barrackville, WV, d/o Henry NEPTUNE. Henry was a farmer in Marion  Co., WV. In 1910 and 1920 Henry was in Fairmont,, with Festus who appears to have been an only child, living with his parents in both census years. Mary is buried at Barrackville Baptist Cem., Marion Co., WV. Adam was a farmer in Marion Co., WV. In 1910 and 1920 Adam was in Fairmont, Marion Co. IN 1910 Elizabeth PRICKETT 70, Adam's mother-in-law, is living with them, and Maria Riggs is a servant. Sedonia is buried in the Baptist Cem., Marion Co., WV. (WVMIB11, 14-15, WVMI6, 7) Children:

202.1b4d1 Albert Guy HECK, b. 14 Dec 1886, Marion  Co., WV, m. Bertha A. _______. Albert worked for the B&O railroad as a telegraph operator, working at Glover Gap, Carrackville, Farmington, and Mannington. He operated the "HECK Line" in Mannington, a type of radio cable system, that allowed people to place speakers in their homes to receive radio broadcasts for $1.50 per month. His three sons followed in his footsteps; Clyde the chief engineer at WMMN in Fairmont in 1933, and eventually installing WPIC station in Sharon, PA in 1938; Roy on the engineering staff at Fairmont, became manufacturing engineer at Fairmont Westinghouse, retired from Westinghouse in Baltimore in 1977; Richard was employed at Westinghouse in Sharon, PA. HYRE, d/o Jehu and Ruanna (SMITH) HYRE ( Jehu s/o Peter HYRE; Ruanna d/o Peter and Phoebe (THORN) SMITH of South Branch of the Potomac River). Jerone was a farmer in Meade District, of Upshure Co., WV, near Ten Mile on the B&O Railroad. (WVUPB1 p473)

202.1b4i Louis H. HECK, b. 1864, d. 10 Apr 1888, Marion Co., WV. Her will names mother, sister, Nancy V., brothers, Henry J., Adam T., Jerome D., and 1/2 brother, Alfred E., The witnesses were Henry NEPTUNE and R. C. Brooks. That Alfred E. was a half-brother, is a puzzle. (WVMIB6-7)

202.1b9 Dorcas HECK, b. 24 Aug 1833, Monongalia Co., VA, d. 9 Oct 1909, age 76, Marion Co., WV, m. 25 Oct 1873, Monongalia Co., WV, Franklin RALPHSNYDER, b. c1823, Monongalia Co., VA, s/o John and Elizabeth RALPHSNYDER. John  was a widower when he m. Dorcas. He was previously m. to Mary FETTY (maybe FELTY) on 18 Dec 1851 in Monogalia Co., VA, d/o Thomas B. FETTY (FELTY?) By his first marriage, he had at least one child, Franklin P. Clark RALPHSNYDER, b. c1856 VA. In 1860 and 1870 Franklin was farming in Monongalia Co. WV. ffDorcas is buried in Heck Cemetery. Philip was a farmer, living in Paw Paw, Marion Co. 1860-1910, in 1880 with his sister Joanna. Philip's will written 10 Nov 1815, probated 7 Jan 1917, Book 6, p146, but not abstracted. The are buried in Heck Cem., Marion Co. (WVMIB2-5, 7, 9-10 12, 14, WVMI8-12, 14, WVMN7) Children (1 by 1st. wife, 4 by 2nd.):
