Notes:
Brideport Resevoir.
Bridgeport resevoir has been known to produce, on average, some of the biggest fish in Mono County. It's tributaries are rich in minerals that are needed to support the natural food sources for the trout. This lake is stocked with average size fish, but they grow rapidly. Five pounders are common for both Rainbows and Brownies.
Tips:
1.
Float your bait.
Because of the richness of the water here lots of grass and weeds grow. It is impotant to keep your bait above these. Power Bait and inflated Night Crawlers are your best bets.
2. Give them room to run.
These larger fish like to run with the bait before eating it. Let them.
Leave you line loose, or leave your bail open, and stay alert to any line movment.
3.Use heavier tackle.
It would be horrifing to do everything right and then have your line break in the middle of a good battle with one of these babys. Although you have a better chance to catch pan sized trout with 4-6 pound test, I strongly recommend at least 8 pound with a 4 lb. leader. Weight it with a filled sliding plastic bubble, and a split shot. You may have to adjust the distance you give the bubble to slide depending on the time of year.(The height of the grass etc...)

4. Relax.
If you don't know how to relax this place can teach you.
Bites can be sporadic, so bring a book, a beverage, or just simply let your senses take it all in. Feel the warm sun and the cool breeze. Hear the sounds of the many species of birds, a boat motor in the distance, and the soft sound of water splashing on the shore.
