Old News

4/18- Today's my birthday!!  Just thought I'd celebrate by taking three exams.  Ugh!  Anyway, there's been little or no news to report, so I haven't updated the site in a while.  But now we have five new pics in the photo gallery, courtesy of Rhonda, the purplest girl I know.  Colander will soon be going on summer break; hopefully more shows(less school, anyway).  I'll be doing some recording on my solo project, tentatively titled The Jackboot Lillies.  And sign our freakin' guestbook if you haven't already.  C'mon, you know you want to.  Well, I'm listening to Sonic Youth and it's tripping me out, so I'm outtie.  Have a time.

4/4- Well, the first show at Peppers was plagued by sound troubles (this time it was Jared who was inaudible), but the show at the TV Room went rather well.  By some accounts, this was the best we've ever played.  I don't know about that, but there were sure a lot of hot, sweaty people groovin' their respective thangs on the floor.  Special thanks to those that stayed for Astra's set.  Or who drove out from our hometowns.  Hell, we just want to thank all of ya's.
3/10- Please, please don't quote me on this, but I think that the guestbook is working.  It's 1:30 in the morning, I have class at 10, and I'm through screwing around with it.  You may check it out with my blessing.  Additionally, the photo gallery section is now in full swing and probably the coolest part of this page.  And the history section has been given its own page to make room for news.  I wish I had something COOL to report, but it's tired and I'm late.  Learn to love it.

Oh, and we got the demos back.  It'll be a while before the world sees a Colander album, but keep watchin' here 'cause it'll just sneak up on you unexpectedly.

3/7- Hi all you interested Colander fans.  We have cool news to report from over spring break.  First of all, we played a show at my home town, Caledonia.  We had really bad sound, and the monitors (as well as my mike!) didn't work, but the reaction was favorable.  We do our best.

Additionally, we headed up to Stephensville to do some recording for a demo.  While we were there, we laid down some tracks that may eventually turn into a full length album!  Cool.  Mostly old stuff, a few new ones, two of my songs (That will really wierd out people who have seen us before)  Keep checkin' here & I'll keep y'all posted.

We will also soon have a photo page (I hope), we have them ready, I've just gotta see about getting them all uploaded and laid out, as well as what kind of space we have.  The link will be somewhere on the page, but if you're too lazy to look for it (like me)

2/24- 1st update.  We have 2 shows coming up, check history section for dates.  Also, over our little break we should be recording a decent sounding little demo, if all goes well.  We have a demo already, but it's just us playing in the same room as one microphone and all the joy that contains.  It shall serve its purpose, however, and mad props to Mark for all his help.
3/27-Calling all Colanderians!!!  We have a show at Pepper's on the Thursday the 29th.  We should go on around 10, and it's 18+ and $5 at the door.  We would love to have whatever support we can get, so get on out there!  E-mail us for directions if you want them; someone will give them to ya.  Maybe even Chris, our elusive svengali.  Say hi to him for me.

3/24-I'm going to use this space to make another plug for our 7:30 show on April 1st in the Eldridge/Fox TV Room.  Everybody get that? Good.

We have new sections; the lyrics and mp3s.  I never realized how outlandishly huge mp3s were until I tried to put them on this site.  Hokey Peter!!!  I tried to fit "All Dolled Up" on there, but it was a losing battle.  More lyrics may be coming to the site, but this is all I had and could be certain would be safe to post.  Well, stay true to the fresh, funky hip hop.  I'm outta here.

3/16- We finally have a date for the Eldridge/Fox TV Room gig; it's on the 1st.  We desperately need practice time so we don't sound like crap when April rolls around.  We also have some new shows in the works, but nothing concrete, so I can't post anything really.  Oh, and for reasons of space, I moved older updates to their own section, oxymoronically titled "old news."  Anyone interested will hopefully one day be able to use this to track the progress of the band, or at least the web site.  : )  Addtitionally, we should have two new pics in the photo gallery, featuring the artistic stylings of Mr. Scott Saxton.  Peace!
