Welcome To Our Dance Page

We met dancing and have been dancing ever since.

Our first dance was at an open dance sponsored by a Parents Without Partners chapter. Ernie asked Dale to dance to a slow song and when it was done the DJ played a twist. Ernie asked Dale if she liked to twist. Afterwards Ernie told Dale that it was really good to dance with someone who actually did the twist instead of just moving a little while he danced all around her. A couple of years later after we had started to date, Dale told Ernie that was the first time she had done the twist in years.

We were frequent dance partners at open dances and went to the same place to learn country line and partner dancing. After we started dating we took ballroom dance lessons.

For a while we were dancing 4 to 6 nights a week. Ernie had some eye surgeries and our lives got really busy in other areas, so we went through a 7 or 8 month period where we danced very little. We are trying to get back to dancing at least 2 or 3 times a week.

Since our relationship started dancing, Ernie thought it would be appropriate that our life as husband and wife start the same. Unlike most newly married couples who walk into the reception, we danced in.

After the wedding, Lisa, our daughter-in-law, asked us to teach country line dancing at her studio. We were only able to teach about 7 or 8 weeks when Ernie had the first eye surgery and we had to stop. We will be teaching line dancing there again starting September 26,2002.
