| HUGS |
| Have you discovered in your everyday life, the benefits of a "HUG"? Yes, there are many that would respond with a dull, indifferent shrug... But we who will receive the healing deep within our soul, Can tell you how a loving hug can fill a gaping hole. How often do we ache within, not letting it be known... Wearing a smile for all to see but encasing our heart with stone? Sometimes we do not realize, how much denial reigns, Until the moment a love-filled HUG reveals what our heart contains. Some fil their days with endless tasks so that their minds won't dwell, Upon what's hidden in their hearts like water in an abandoned well... Or walk through life aloof and proud, refusing that special touch... It strengthens the weary, gives hope to the lost, Encourages us forward no matter the cost; Comforts the heart that is filled with great sorrow, Renews and restores our desire for tomorrow. And so, my dear friend, I send one to you displayed by two furry friends... Huggable, snuggable, unable to see, where one starts and the other one ends. Just close your eyes and whisper your need and let them touch your heart, Feel the HUG they were sent to deliver... it's been yours from the very start. (this poem written for and dedicated to Merle Anne Steensen, mother of Jennifer Steensen . We met on the net when I wrote my story "Jenny's World" and later discovered the "real" Jennifer's "Field of Dreams") |
