Wild Eurpoean rabbits may have territories as large as 4 square miles. It is only natural that the domestic rabbit would need time to run around a little. I believe this helps them build muscle for body condition and helps to stimulate them. Each rabbit gets out for a few hours at least once a week depending on the weather. They seem to really enjoy themselves. This run is the main one on the left side of the rabbitry between my home, the fence, and the rabbitry. Its about 20 ft long and 4 ft wide. The chicken wire extends below the ground to prevent escape by via digging. |
