Whirlpools

Ok, winds are pretty basic; you saw 2 common examples of them in the previous page. I'm not going to go over them any more for now. But whirlpools are something of interest. Brigands have whirlpools mastered. People do not. If you can master whirlpools, you can win at least 80% of pvp battles out there. Whirlpools are one of the best aids for closing the gap quickly, or running your tail off. Use them.
Whirlpool positions
There are 4 different basic positions in a whirlpool. First, are you facing in?
Or are you facing out?
AND are you on the left side (center of whirlpool to your right)
or are you on the right side (center of whirlpool to your left)
The 4 basic positions are, left facing in, left facing out, right facing out, right facing in.
How whirlpools work
Reminder: Whirlpools work AFTER the ship moves, but before cannon fire/grappling. How do they move you? You're swung around to the opposite side, and turned 90 degrees clockwise. Each of these shows the way the whirlpool moves you for 4 moves, one full turn
Notice that in each of the 4, the basic position goes from Left Inside to Left Outside, to Right Outside, to Right Inside, back to Left Inside again. If you stay in a whirlpool for one full turn, (assuming no other interferes), you will end up back in the exact same position.
Dizzying isn't it?
Whirlpool Entries
You can enter the whirlpool in any of the positions (before whirlpool movement). Entering inwards is the easiest, as you can go straight in
Left entry
Right entry
It's also possible to enter facing outwards, if you move by turning through the whirlpool
Left side-entry
Right side-entry
