After this tutorial you should be able to do basic labour in 2 or 3 fills.
General Tips:
- Puzzle Level
In order to do this properly, you need to be at the correct puzzle level. This is generally the 2-colour 1-fill bottle level, where there is just 2 primary colors, and 1 fill required for each bottle.
- Fill 1 primary colour per fill
Only focus on filling 1 primary colour per fill. Secondary colours (green, orange, purple) raise your score too much, so avoid it if possible. If you have mostly secondary colours, you may want to booch your game.
More detailed tips
Get to the right puzzle level
To lower your puzzle level, booch games
If your puzzle level is higher than the 2-colour 1-fill bottle level, booch games until your rank drops low enough for these games. This means, 'Break every bottle in a game!' Basically, create a fill as if you had quicksilver, filling every bottle possible. Choose the colour that breaks the most, and repeat until you've broken every bottle. You should be able to break all the bottles in 3 or 2 fills, 1 if you're lucky.
Keep at the right puzzle level
Break as many bottles at possible with your last fill.
Breaking bottles seriously hurts your score. If you can break nearly all of them, you will be able to maintain your low ranking
Break secondary colour bottles whenever possible
Since you're not going to be filling them anyways, break bottles with the secondary colours whenever possible.
Only fill as many bottles as you need
If you only need 3 more bottles to complete the set, don't fill 6, it'll just raise your score unnecessarily.
Gameplay, Step by Step
- For your first fill, count which colour will fill the most.
- Set up a fill for that colour.
- Break as many secondary colour bottles as possible if easy to chain on.
For the second fill,
- Again, count which colour will fill the most.
- Set up a fill for that colour.
- Break as many secondary colour bottles as possible if easy to chain on.
- If this fill ends it, break as many of the other colour bottles too!
- If this fill doesn't end it but brings you close, break bottles of the other color you don't need.
Example. You have filled 5 bottles, and are about to fill 4 red, leaving 1 more bottle filled. You have 2 extra purple and 2 extra blue bottles. Since you only need 1 more, break both the purple bottles and 1 blue bottle. If you even feel like it, you can break all the bottles, since the 4 filled should give you at least one more bottle of a primary color.
- Rinse and repeat.
Most important tip here!!!
If it's too hard don't do it!
Seriously, what's the point of following a strategy designed to make your life easier if it's incredibly hard to follow? These are tips, guidelines, not rules. The contra-positive is also true. If it's easy, do it. If half the board is already covered in red tubing, then fill those 1 or 2 red bottles.
