Lesbos: The harbor of Mytillini
Some Mytillini architecture. At left, my favorite church, the late 19th-century Church of St. Therapon. At right, the elaborate doorway to my dream house. Below, another interesting church, alongside a mural displaying the island's biggest export, and a restoration in progress - amazing what a little paint can do.
Views from the beach of Molyvos, a charming traditional village at the northern tip of the island.
Coral walks along the castle at Molyvos; people gather to watch the sunset.
Molyvos church steeple
Our two forms of transportation on the island: Coral atop a horse named Kyra in Molyvos and atop a papaki in Skala Eressos (note her snazzy red helmet)
Horse dung? Modern art? No, it's the petrified "forest" of Lesbos, one of only two in the entire world. Here, a few choice 20-million-year-old rock-like stumps.
