MILDENHALL PAGE 2
USAF KC-135R Stratotanker
This aircraft is the main type based at RAF Mildenhall, and is operated by the 100th ARW. It is primarily used for refuelling USAFE and other NATO aircraft .
This photo again has people in it, despite a reasonably long wait for a gap in the crowds. Not perfect, but it will do.
NATO E3A Sentry
This machine, operated by NATO joint AEW command (they are registered in Luxembourg), is used for Airborne Early Warning.

This photo was relatively easy to obtain, as the aircraft was parked some distance from the main static area.
USAF B-52H Stratofortress
Based at Barksdale AFB, Louisiana, this B-52 dominated the static park.
The B-52 is one of my all time favourite aircraft, and this example carried special nose artwork.

The main difficulty in taking this photograph was the sheer size of the beast, it requiring me to back away almost to the opposite side of the static park, even with a 28mm lens. Photographs of nose-art available on request.
USAF B-1B Lancer
The B-52's bombing partner, the  B-1B Lancer is the second member of America's heavy bomber triad, the other being the B-2 Spirit.
The aircraft present in the static park was named 'Reluctant Dragon'.

Note the combined problems of subject size and busy crowds. Photographs of nose-art available on request.
