Characters can equip those items even if they are below level. However, there are limits to how high a level of equipment certain classes can equip. Those are shown in the class briefings.

The Item Point Value of every weapon is simply the amount of attack it is listed at. So, a short sword would be worth 4 item points.

*All ranged weapons are two-handed. In order to attack a target, there must be no obstacle within viewing passage. Allies characters are not considered obstacles. Enemy characters are.
Ranged Weapons **Ranged Weapons cannot be used at melee range. The attacker must be at least 2 spaces away from their target to use their ranged weapon. The range is the horizontal/vertical square distance; diagonals count as two spaces, just like movement.
