NAME: Zidane Tribal WEAPONS: Thief knives Zidane is an always bright and happy teenager.
He is part of the infamous thieves clan known as Tantalus. Once he is sent
on the mission to "kidnap" Princess Garnet from Alexandria castle, he falls
deeply in love with her. He also helps anyone he can, and is a real lady
killer. Zidane is also the first one in your party who achieves Trance.
Garnet is the cute heir to the throne of Alexandria.
Although she doesn't look like it, she is a summoner, and thus, has the
ability to summon the magical beasts known as Eidelons. Although she is
physically very weak, she has a big selection of white magic spells. Before
entering Dali with the party, she will change her name to Dagger.
Vivi is a maybe strange, but most friendly child.
He always thinks of others first. Although he is pretty well lost in the
path of his own life and is sad about the fact that he is a black mage
all the time, Vivi posseses fearsome black magic powers.
Steiner is the general of the (clumsy) Alexandrian
Pluto knights. Although Steiner can be a clumsy nitwit sometimes, he always
sticks to his orders and would risk his life in order to keep Garnet's
safe. Later in the game, Steiner also has some of the most destructive
skills like Shock and Climhazzard.
Amarant is actually a mercenary hired by Queen
Brahne, who needs to retreive the Pendant Garnet is wearing. When he fights
with Zidane at Madain Sari, he realises he is too weak, and later joins
the party, only to find out what makes them so powerfull. Being a monk
gives Amarnt the opportunity to use Chakra skills.
Eiko is, just like Garnet, a descendant of the
Summoners. Eiko can also summons Eidelons, and white magic. She lives in
Madain Sari, along with a few dozens of moogles. She even falls in love
with Zidane when she takes the other party members to her home at first.
Freya is a friendly but somewhat mysterious member
of your party. She is a Burmecian Dragoon and her actual target is to find
sir Fratley, a fellow Burmecian Dragoon and Freya's lost love... Since
she is a Dragoon, she also has the opportunity to use the handy "Jump"
command.
Quina is probally the weirdest member you'll have
in your party, even his/her gender is unkown! The only thing Quina cares
about is food, which is alo the reason why she joins your party. Although
she only walks in the way most of the time, she can use blue magic and
has the weird, but usefull "Eat" command
Beatrix is Alexandria's female general. She's
only playable during one part of the game (disc 3). She posseses white
magic and some very powerfull sword techniques, but Steiner will get those
as well, later in the game. Beatrix is a little confused about the happenings
and Queen Brahne, at first she doesn't even want to believe that what Brahne
is doing is bad, but later on, when Garnet is in trouble, she will choose
for the good side.
Non playable characters
Queen Brahne is Princess Garnet's mother and queen
of the Alexandrian kingdom. Although she's a good queen when it comes to
maintaining the kingdom, Brahne has an extreme greedy and power-desiring
mind. As soon as she gets possesion over the black mages and the destructive
Eidelons, her greed takes control over her, and makes her attack the other
2 great nations: Burmecia and Lindblum.
Kuja is the one who's behind everything, or in
other words, your main enemy later on in the game. Kuja's motives are to
regain control over the powerfull Eidelon summoning force and becoming
more powerfull. He is not even from Gaia, but from another world called
Terra.
