ACTING SHOWREEL

There are two versions of my acting showreel below.  The first version is 2 minutes 10 seconds.  It starts with the one minute version of the Advanced Medical Institute TVC currently screening nationally in Australia. Then there are excerpts from a Greater Building Society TVC and two short films. My voice was the best quality I could get at the time but in August the three and a half year problem with my voice was cured (virtually overnight). At this stage I do not have any acting examples with my recovered voice but will update my Showreel when I do.  The second version of my acting showreel is a cut down 30 second version.

NOTE: I also act in the films Hidden Conspiracies Revealed and 2069: A Sex Odyssey - It's Quicker By Phone that appear in my filmmaking showreel further down this page.

FILMMAKING  SHOWREEL

For Newcastle Shootout on 14 July 2007 I made and starred in a short film called Hidden Conspiracies Revealed. The story proposes that the Pasha Bulker was wrecked on Nobbys Beach as a government conspiracy to promote Newcastle's tourist industry. The dodgy accent is deliberate. Shootout is a short film competition where the films have to be edited in camera. That is shots have to be filmed in sequence and if you don't like the shot you have to rewind the tape and reshoot it before proceeding.

For my final year project for Certificate III in Screen through TAFE in 2006 I made a short film called 2069: A Sex Odyssey - It's Quicker By Phone.  It runs for 7 minutes 18 seconds.  Despite the title it is not pornographic.  It is the story of Billy and his battle to have his first sexual experience after government bureaucracy takes over the sex industry.  You can view it below.

Below is the short film I entered in the Newcastle Film Festival for 2006.  It was screened as one of the top 10 finalists and won the Encouragement Award (A free entry for a team of 4 in next year's Newcastle Shootout Film Festival).  I basically did every role in making this film except act.  This short film was an extended version (1 minute 49 seconds) of a recent TAFE assignment where I was required to make up a TV commercial.  It is called Rob Ridgeway Mobile Massage Therapy and is based on a friend's real business.  You can view it below.
