As I said, there lots of groups where mums can get together to talk about thier kids, such as Mother & Toddler Group ( Note the word mother) Here, in Portsmouth, we have a nursery for childern with special needs called "The Willows" They have an Outreach service for perants with special needs children to goto. They occasionaly have a guest speaker who would give basic sawing ideas and other useful tips etc. Not that I'm saying that you should take up sawing, But it would be nice to have a place where a group of men with similer problems could get together and chat. If you did want to talk to someone about a perticuler problem, then I'm sure we could get a specialist to come along to one of our meetings. If not, I could find out who you need to speak to and get a phone number for you. A venue shouldn't be to much problem. I have been offered a coupel of locations where we could hold a meeting. I'm sure we can find some where, even if it ment meeting in a bar! I have also been told it may be possible to provide a crache somtimes, so any dads who are lone perants can still come along. I'm sure we can get this off of the ground in Portsmouth, and hopefuly this could get the ball rolling throughout the country. |
