June 27 2005 Finally there is light at the end of the work tunnel. Have now got what I would say are two and a half jobs. Don't know how long i'll be able to do all three but i'll do them all for a couple of weeks and make lots of money then go back to two or one. The first is working in a supermarket. Not really what I want to be doing but the pay rate makes it seem just that little bit better. All you PaknSavers out there will just about faint; I'm getting $18.50 an hour for a supermarket job. Unbelievable. You'll laugh at what I'm doing though. I'm going to be a checkout chick. I think if I was on the pay I was getting in New Zealand I wouldn't last long. So, anyone earning nothing in little old Dunedin should drink half as much alcohol as they have been for a couple of months and get your arse over here. As I'm not going to be full time for a few weeks I'm going to fit in going door-to-door for Epilepsy Queenland and trying to sell some merchandise or just trying to get donations. That's meant to be 26 hours and you get paid $15.30 an hour and get bonuses if you make more than $400 a week. It may not make much money but worth a try. They seem to have some system where you pretty much get paid the same as what you make for them so the government or somebody must be paying them the same. And to top it all off I'm going to deliver flyers around the suburb when I can find the time. I see this all lasting a short time before quitting jobs two and three but I need as much money as possible quickly. Should sustain me until the science recruitment agency can come through for me and find a job I like doing. That's about it. Hope everyone has a good week and don't forget to sign the guestbook.
June 22 2005 Well, not much to report today. I'm trying to get my home of cricket page up and running but are having many problems. Tried to pretty much use cricinfo's page layout but it's not really working so I'll just have to make a not-so-cool page with this template. Also, don't forget to sign my guestbook so I know who has been nice enough to check this and who will be my favourite people.

June 21 2005 Had group job interview yesterday for Coles Myer. They're so anal and crazy considering most of their jobs are customer service in supermarkets and stores like KMart. You'd think we were applying for a top level management job. Wasn't really an interview either. After filling out application forms we had to solve a murder mystery in groups by reading this story then working out who the murderer was. Very stupid. I'm onto the next stage so am pretty much assured of a job. They are now just "matching your skills and experience to our positions". The same old garbage i've got from everyone. Hopefully it won't be in a supermarket just so i can have some variety. Will be a good job while looking for something better. Besides that, still recovering from staying up til four two nights in a row watching the mighty Australia slowly fall. Life is good.
even further back
June 19 2005 Another quiet weekend. Not having money must be good for the liver cos I haven't been able to drink for a few weeks. For those who care about cricket stayed up till 4am to see the biggest upset in cricket history. Bangladesh rock. Again for those who care the Ashes is live and free here, so there's going to be alot of late nights coming up. Other than that it has actually been cold for a change. Well, relative to what it was. It's raining for the second time since I've been here. You know you all want to come visit then, don't you?
June 17, 2005 Well, good to see some people have had a look at the site. As you can see a little bit extra is being added each day. Today, like yesterday pretty boring. Got my backup plan for job now working nicely. Got an interview with the Coles Myer group. They own just about everything, from supermarkets, the huge myer shopping centres, Dick Smith, Kmart and heaps more. So the worst scenario is another supermarket job but hopefully I can get abit of variety and work in Dick Smith or somewhere. There's now a guestbook where you can leave a message. Have a good weekend everyone.
June 16 2005 Haven't heard back about my job yet. Hopefully someone tried to call as I write this. Besides that done precious little. Watched the sad maroons league team get hammered last night by the blues. A sad day in my adopted town. Over the next few months will introduce you - my fellow New Zealanders - to the surprisingly entertaining and great sport of Aussie Rules Football. In the Aussie Rules world a singlet is called a guernsey, and both Matthew (flatmate) and I are going to buy one and be cool.
