How
y'all doin! Ok so the last time i talked to you all was in
March of 2003...man i was hoping to make it an every 9 month update.
Oh well, once a year is going to have to do, so don't expect to hear
from me again until 2005. Quick recap of 2003, got motorcycle
license in September and turned 21 in November. That's all you
need.
Yeah,
ok, so i never made an update with NYC pics...sorry there are too
many pictures and i did not want to sort through all of them.
This
New Years was spent in Sin City. Yep Las Vegas. And
everyone knows the cliche. I'm not going to repeat it.
I know
my webpage is completely out of date and looks all primitive
compared to current sites and most people use xanga or blogs to
write about themselves. Well if you've been keeping up with
me, then you know i don't do what most people do and really i'm just
lazy to update the layout.
Now for
what y'all have been waiting for, me talking about myself. On
January 20, 2004, The Jahnkes is going to embark on his final
semester at California State University, San Marcos. Man
that's crazy. I still vividly remember my first semester there
and that was two and a half years ago. Amazing. I like
San Marcos, I've met a lot of people there who i like, some i don't
like, and also some pretty good friends. The campus is growing
into more of a "real school" now, we just opened a new library and
we opened dorms last semester. Good stuff. When i
graduate, i will be proud to say i graduated from CSU San Marcos,
and i'll also be proud that i can brag about a little piece of
paper.
To be
honest with you, i don't know what made me want to write and update
this jahnkes. It's 11:45 pm sunday night and i have work
tomorrow at 8. I'm tired of where i work, but so are most
people. I've always liked to think of myself as more mature
than i should be for my age, but really i'm not even sure anymore.
I mean acting mature is always a good thing, but i think in the past
it has kept me from acting my age. I mean i just turned 21 a
few months ago, and hell, i'm going to enjoy being a young
21-year-old guy. Tough though, when you're on the brink of the
entering the work force in a mere 5 or 6 months. Sometimes my
friends call me an old man because i have a tendency to fall asleep
early some nights, and sometimes i am just content staying home and
not going out. And sometimes i don't go out because of lack of
funding haha. For some reason i usually find money for beer
though, except for tonight, me and bobee only had a combined 7
bucks. Anyway, as I am coming close to college graduation, i
look back on when i graduated high school. I though i knew
exactly who i was. Hell, sometimes i'm still not sure who i am
or what i want to be. But the one thing that college has
taught me is that you never stop growing and never stop changing.
Change is inevitable, and if you don't learn to embrace it, you are
going to get left behind. Everyone always seems to be trying
to stay ahead of the game, and there's nothing wrong with that, but
if you can't stay ahead, at least try your best to keep up.
Now i'm not saying you need to keep up with the joneses per say,
because i'm the last person to do that, but change is good and
everyone should keep growing.
It's
that time for New Years Resolutions. I don't make New Years
Resolutions. Now don't say i don't have goals, i have goals of
my own, but i'm one to take things as they come. There's one
new years resoultion that i like to think i have kept...always do
what you can to make yourself a better person.
Ok this
turned into something of an essay, but hey, it's been like 10 months
you should have expected it to be long. The next time i talk
to you guys, i'll probably have graduated and done something to try
to squeeze more feeling out of this life of mine...see i told you i
have goals. But hey, you might get lucky and i might update
sometime in the next 12 months. Hope you all are good and have
a great year. It's time to go, the rerun of Real World San
Diego is on, and i need to watch it because i missed the premier.
And i still plan to be on that show one day.
The Jahnkes.
