What is a Terrorist?
It seems as though the new slogan for Bush is one of victory over terrorism.  There have been several instances when Mr. Bush or his aides have told the American public that we are winning the war on terrorism.  The biggest victory it seems is the absence of any attack on American soil since 9/11.  I have seen this rhetoric on all the major news programs and throughout the printed media.  I am curious though what criteria must be met in order for an attack to be deemed terrorism?
I want to take you back to October of last year.  In Maryland and Virginia 13 people were shot and 10 died from a sniper's bullets.  Was the body count too low? or was the ethnicity of the snipers of the wrong group?
If we could also go to the United States Postal Service shortly after the 9/11 attacks.  The spores of the anthrax found in several letters were linked to a US lab.  The letters killed Postal workers, closed the capitol and was even found in letters addressed to prominent reporters.  This seems to be a terrorist attack but according to the Bush administration this is just an unsolved mystery.  I am not pointing to the Republicans in this article, but rather to the government and media in general.  There are attacks still made on americans in America.  We may be winning but how far are we really from victory?
