After beginning guitar, the "band bug" hit me and I formed a small school band, "Matt's Music Mania". Immaturity previaled, and not much was done, but I had been shown what COULD happen, in time. I later met David, the son of the guitarist inmy dad's Deep Purple tribute band, "Who Do We Think We Are?". Also a Deep Purple fan, we wrote together, but performances never came about because of the distance between us.

| Another school band was formed, "Massacre", with diffferent members. This was short lived, with no guitarist, and nowhere to rehearse (school wanted 5 an hour to play). | |||||||||||||||||||||||||

I joined forces with a friend: drummer Toby Gough, and we played for a long time, before also recruiting Craig Fortune on guitar. The band split a while later after arguments.

Toby and I reformed, with an old school friend, Joe Woolf on guitar, and Ed Smythe on keys. The band's direction changed, getting gradually heavier, with the other musicians' influences being more contemporary and alterenative than my own. Joe became unreliable, not turning up for school rehearsals - which was heard for him as he went to school in Hitchin. Toby and I rewelcomed Craig Fortune for a little while

After the band split altogether, I spoke to William Horsman, who had begun writing material. He needed a bass player and drummer, and once again, Toby and I were a Rhythm Section. We later invited Craig Fortune for a last time. At one rehearsal, in 2001, the band fell out with Craig, and carried on without him. We split up a while later.
