Very few bands that came from the "Grunge" era are still around today, Pearl Jam is. After a rough start, incluiding an on going fight with Nirvana, the band who was on top at the time, Pearl Jam keepton fighting until now, giving us 6 albums. One official Live album and a tour that included a live album per venue.
the bands style did change with the time, wich is an expected evolution for a band the caliber of Pearl Jam. Each album seem the missing link between the previous and the one after as if they structured all the albums to move into the style they have become.
Pearl Jam lost many fans since they have started, mostly because of the death of "Grunge," but have keep an enourmous amount. All the bands fans will consider Pearl Jam as there favorite band. All the fans are 100% fans, just the way the band likes it.
The particularity of Pearl jam isn't the guitar, nore the drum or the bass, but the voice and lyrics of lead singer, Eddie Vedder. Vedder's lyrics are real and touching and anyone can relate to them. Pearl jam isn't the "Heaviest" band but by far is one of the most talented and loyal bands to ever exists.
They will have marked the nineties by being part of the "grunge" trend and by being a rare band to survive that era.
