Pionners of the hybrid style of "Rap-Metal," Rage against the machine has influence many bands. Wether it be the style or it be the content of there song they created a trend that would mark "Hard Rock" for many years and possibly saved it.
Rage were one of teh first bands to have "Heavy" bass and then topped by a rap singer. Zack De LaRocha's political lyric, wether they be about racism, communism or terrorist mouvements, gave credibility to the style. At the time the style was very experimental and what pushed people towards it was taht for once a band was talking about real issues. Not since the 70's punk era had we seen such a political bands with such intensity.
Rage has done four albums and for most teh best one as to be the first. None have meet its intensity, from the intense shouts from killing in the name of to the cries from Freedom. All the songs on that album were like a wake up call.
Unfortunitly De La Rocha left teh band for a solo carreer, thus leaving the band without a singer. Rage is now looking for a new singer and claim they will be doing more albums with a new singer. Hopefully, without Zack, taht they will still come out with great albums as tehy have shoiwn us in the past.
