| BlaKouT - Eswann is the head of BlaKouT and one day the group, including Orane, Jabba and Kutless, were in the studio teasing him about an electrical power outage (he works as an operator at the power generation station for the local power company) and as the teasing continued Orane wrote the word blackout on the desk. As Eswann was giving him ---- for messing up the desk, Jabba added graphics to the word then everyone got into the ---- ah ---- discussion. It slowly dawned on all that the
now much modified BlaKouT actually was a real and symbolic description for the group. Real in the sense that they were a
bunch of performers coming out of the dark of their present lives and into the light of a brighter possible future. Symbolic in the sense that they were breaking for the traditional Caribbean music such as Soca, Reggea, and Calyso, for example, into the light of "New" music as in Hip Hop/Rap, R&B and Soul. |
