RAPE

A Consequence Of  Patriarchy

Rapists, aggressors, sexual harassment authors and other sexual offenders don't consider their victims as their fellows; that's their common point : Their victims have become pieces of "meat". Those aggressors have assimilated Patriarchy norms ; they consider women inferior, only envisage women in traditional roles (mother/housewife) or as sex object, the latter through the media.

Most aggressors are pornographers but the link between pornography and rape has not been explicitly proved ( and fortunately most pornographers are not aggressors ! ).

Besides how can we explain  high rape rates in countries where pornography is forbidden? ( like in West African countries).  It comes more from the fact that they have patriarchial values that don't stimulate respect.

The real problem is that WOMEN DON' T REPRESENT POWER . This society is turned towards the males' advancement.

The weakest fell prey of aggressors ; it's proverbial .
Who represent weakness ? Women (the weaker sex).

As long as Patriarchy exists violences against women  are bound to exist too.

Everyday  Rapes

This Patriarchy society puts men's desires first ; men tend to follow this logic : HOW MANY GIRLS FEEL RAPED BY THEIR  BOYFRIENDS ?

Most everyday rapes are identified as belonging to the relationship and are not denounced.  There are  common rapes in any partnership.

Education as a solution

Acting only for the passing of repressive laws and overlooking the social aspect doesn't make sense.

Laws have never prevented crimes.

One is not good because of the laws but more because of a general education.
A family education avoiding gender discrimination, and a school education teaching pupils equality of people -men and women- thus appears to be the solution.

COMMUNICATION between  women and men to get to know each other has to be stressed to take  their respective expectations into consideration.

The fall of patriarchy is necessary for women to get equality ; a society for men AND women : EDUCATING people is a first step towards it.

The end of Patriarchy certainly won't stop aggressions; violences -against women and men - happen first in poor environments.

The struggle against poverty and for an education stressing equality for all is essential.

Women know  violence under many forms, still,  there are great similarities
