By Air , Malaysian Airline System (MAS) and Pelangi Air Malaysian Airlines has regular flights to Kota Bharu and Kuala Terengganu from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) or Subang Airport and Penang. There are more flight to Kota Bharu daily. From the airport - you can easily get a taxi or airport limousine to Kuala Besut. OR
By Road, From Kuala Lumpur (Putra Station) to Kuala Terengganu by bus (~7 hours) RM 25.10 normal / RM 38.10 business class - per ticket per way By 42 seats air-cond coach RM1,100.00 per coach per way. And to Kota Bharu by bus (~8 hours), RM 26.10 normal / RM 39.10 business class.OR
By Train, Express Trains from Kuala Lumpur to Kelantan terminate at Wakaf Baru and Tumpat. Stop over points en-route Gua Musang, Kuala Krai, Tanah Merah and Pasir Mas. There is no railway line in Terengganu. From these stop-over points, one can easily get to Kuala Besut by taxi.
From Kota Bharu : Bus no.3 (Red bus) depart every half hour from main bus terminal to Pasir Puteh (Price:RM2.50) From Pasir Puteh Bus Station, take bus no.96 (RM1.60) to Besut. Or by taxi ,Kota Bharu - Kuala Besut (RM24 per taxi, max: 4 person)
From Kuala Terengganu : Take the bus to Jerteh from local terminal or take SKMK Express bus from bus terminal (Kuala Terengganu- Kota Bharu) and stop at Jerteh. from Jerteh take another local bus to Kuala Besut.Or by taxi, Kuala Terengganu - Kuala Besut (RM40 per taxi, max: 4 person)
Boat Fare (Kuala Besut- Perhentian Island)
Fast boat : RM30.00 (one-way) Normal Boat: RM25.00(one-way)
The journey takes approximately 45 minutes for fast boat and one and half hour for the normal boat.
