BREEDING HUNTING DOGS FIT FOR PURPOSE
with Wirehairs for a number of years we are a relatively new kennel located in Taupo, New Zealand. I have owned and trained numerous hunting dogs for over 20 years.
My first experience of a versatile hunting breed was the German Shorthaired Pointer. I used the German Shorthaired Pointer as a species recovery dog with the Department of Conservation working on a threatened species of duck, blue duck, one of only three species of duck in the world that lives on fast flowing rivers. This type of work was particularly hard on the dog and I eventually turned to the German Wirehaired Pointer.
I am a hunter and endeavor to produce the best possible hunting dogs. German Wirehaired Pointers are versatile and perfect for hunting waterfowl,upland game, fur and big game animals.
If you are looking for a hunting dog that has a fantastic desire and drive to hunt, the instinct to point game and a love of water to retrieve then the Geramn Wirehaired Pointer is hard to surpass. They have a great nose and a natural physical ability.
