I've been back to Legazpi last year, and I'm planning another trip in a week...
Changes?  A lot and none at all.....  confused?  let me clarify.
There has been a lot of changes: new people, new faces, new buildings.
But nothing has really changed, it's the same old people I know - laid back and friendly, wary of seeing new faces in their town, delighted to see an old friend.  Even the new neighbors couldn't escape that observation.  The old "respect" is still there, something I couldn't get away from I guess. Almost the same families are still there, they've just grown.  The new buildings?  they still house the old jaunts we used to go to.  Some may have closed and been replaced by a new business, but it just seemed that all of the old "atmosphere" was still there.  Teenagers are still milling around, trying to find the best hang-out; moviehouses still show week-late movies;
so this page, I dedicate to old memories, of a town that has been full of surprises -- and to the hope that other people will find that provincial life is not the most backward upbringing there is :)
Now, let's talk about the latest craze that seem to have hit the country --- why does everybody have to have a cellphone?  And why don't they use it like normal people do? I mean, it's more annoying to see people on the corner, heads down, laughing at something they've just read and punching away (blip, blip, blip) than have them talk to somebody on the phone... isn't it easier and faster???
And nobody is spared!!! In our house alone, there are at least 3 cell phones, Not a lot? Think again, there are effectively, about 4 people who live in the house.  I don't even know if the land line is ever used.
Gotta go - just got text - need to text back ;P
