Lycanthropes, more commonly known as werewolves lead a double life. They can be mild mannered and prudish in normal life but the beast inside drives them to become savage, primal beings who revel in their instincts and urges. Many people think it is the full moon that triggered their change into the beast but it is more too do with the base urges of their wild side that breaks through the barriers when the build up is great enough. They are one of the most physically powerful beings in the supernatural world and highly feared for the killer rage that boils inside their hearts. Strangely enough not all Lycanthropes are part wolf. There are other combinations of man and animal that exist, but they are far more rare... and unpredictable. Werewolf: The most common Lycanthrope. Experts are still uncertain how they came about but it is known that Lycanthropy can be spread through certain enzymes in a werewolf's bodily fluids. A bite or transfer of blood can cause the transfer and the infected will slowly be turned into a fellow lycanthrope over the space of approximately three weeks. There is no known cure for the infection although wolfsbain will supposedly slow the effects of the change, but this will not last forever and is an incredibly painful treatment. The human side too a Lycanthrope is slowly corroded away by the inner urges that are forced upon them, and when those urges get too powerful their body goes through the transformation. Becoming the half man half wolf of legend. In this state the Werewolf loses almost all their humanity and becomes a savage hunter who is only interested in the kill and the propagation of their species. Typically Lycanthropes become addicted too sensations in an attempt too feed their own urges and stay in control of themselves. Abilities: A Werewolf's physical attributes depend on the human who they once were. Their strength vary but in all cases their intelligence and personality is drained too little more than a beast. It would take a person of exceptional intelligence and charisma too retain a semblance of their humanity in Werewolf form. typically a Werewolf created from a normal human would be like this:
Werewolves senses are extremely acute and they heal at an astonishing rate. It takes very specific poisons of instantly fatal damage (decapitation, immense damage to heart or brain) to kill a werewolf. Weaknesses: Werewolves have are intolerant of Silver. It causes them anaphylactic shock in it is introduced into their system in a sizable dose. Their lack of intelligence and primal instincts can make them predictable... although not always.
