Stat Fields

Strength: The raw physical muscle power of your character. I've sectioned it into how much your character can bench press. Naturally you may be able to lift more by other methods but this is a generic test of your strength. 10 is the total limit of you can achieve as a human even with the aid of steroids. It is the maximum of human potential in the strength field.

Speed: The speed of your movement. I've displayed this as your running speed over 100 meters. Like with the strength stat 10 is the maximum you can attain as a human even with drug enhancements.

Agility: How nimble, dexterous and agile you are, plus your sense of balance. This can be used as ability to dodge things and how quick you can move your limbs but, not necessarily how fast they can carry your body. For example you may be able to throw a very fast punch with an agility of 8 but only run at normal human speed. 10 is peek human potential.

Endurance: This is how much your body can take. A fit human body doesn't get much tougher physically and density wise but a high endurance will show excellent health and constitution. You will be less susceptible to illnesses and fatigue and be able to continue on when normally your body would have quit during physical exertion. 10 is peek human potential.

Ranged Combat: This refers to your ability to use ranged combat. Whether that be throwing or Shooting. A stat of 1 means you be lucky to his a wall even if you aim at it. Five would be the usual skill that people have. They can fire guns but its doubtful they could perform any decent shots over 20 feet or manage to throw a knife. Standard Military/Police/FBI level is roughly 7... marksman (or excellent knife thrower) would be 8, a Expert Sniper 9. A Ten would mean you wont miss your target unless something stops or distracts you. 

You can buy skill points with your stat to show what your ranged skills are. See the Skills section below for more details.

Close Combat: Similar to Ranged skill but this is about close quarters combat. Unarmed or close quarters weapons all come under this stat. A stat of 1 will allow grannies and small children to pummel the life out of you. Five is normal. Six is some knowledge and fighting ability. Seven is equivalent to a black belt in a close combat form (doesn't have to be Martial arts).  Eight would be roughly three of these Black Belt equivalents of speciality of one form. Nine is six of these equivalencies. Ten gives you twelve of them and is the highest attainable skill level in close combat.

You need to specify the forms of your Black belt equivalencies by using the system that will be explained in the Skills section.

Technical Skill: This stat is harder to explain but like the other skills it will allow you to buy abilities and skills that are more specialised and technical. The list should help clear this up so make sure to read it before making your decision on how high to rate this.

For the stats below five you will become increasing more unable to perform normal human type skills involving technology and have no specialist skill like first aid.

A stat of 4 is classed as below average. Picking this will mean you cant drive a car or work a computer properly (simple computer functions are confusing and you don't quit know how to work the mouse buttons). You can work more simplistic things like the TV or phone but not to say program your messages or set your alarm clock without the instructions.

3 will even further hinder your abilities. You will bash away at buttons, get confused by most talk of anything technical. Remote controls seem like new fangled madness you need a manual to use.

A 2 will relates to medieval style levels of technological interaction. You can work out the wheel, pulley systems and build yourself a basic hut but your stumped as to what that "Ring ring!" is 

1 will relate too Caveman like technical ability... Oooo Fire!!

Intelligence: I know IQ is a touchy subject with some people and it isn't necessarily how smart some one is but its the only sure way I had of grading this in a way that people can understand easily. Its pretty straight forward and you can but knowledge or intelligence related skills with this. 

Charisma: This was also a hard one to list... charisma is that certain something that people have that is hard to described. Here it can relate to personal attractiveness, persuasiveness, ability to inspire and lead... or if its below average it can have some really adverse affects. A High stat wont always mean you are super good looking. You will have to buy charisma abilities with your stats in the same way you would skills. So you could end up looking normal but be exceptional at inspiring people and social interaction.

The lower you go from normal the more you will be shunned, bullied and ridiculed no matter how much sense you seem to be talking.

With a 1 you will most likely ether be hideous in appearance or purely hated for some undesirable reason. If you said to some one that jumping of a cliff would kill them then they would probably chuck you off just to check .

Willpower: This stat basically applies to your strength of will, resistance to physiological trauma and forcefulness. If your stat is lower than normal you will be more susceptible to suggestion and more likely to give in and quit. There will be bonus modifiers that will come into play when facing certain "Other Races and Beings" and these will be explained later on in the "Hatred or Personal Enemy" section.

Skills Points

Ok certain stat fields give you skills that you must select. This should make virtually every character different even if they have the same stat points in the first fields. This to show you what points you can have

Once you work out what points you are intituled too then you can work out your skills. They are in sections and you cant use them all as a total... for example you cant use a Charisma point for Ranged combat.

 

Skills

All skills work on a three point system. One being good, Two being great and three is expert. This system applies to all but the charisma skills which have no limit.

Ranged Combat Skills: If you have five then the only real skill available to you is "basic" which means you can fire a gun with moderate ability simply because you've seen it done on TV and so on... but for all stats after that you can spend it on one of these following gun skills. The more points you put into a certain gun type the better you will be with that gun. 0 is rated basic level and you need to spend one point to open them all up. One skill point means you are a good shot with that weapon. Two is Excellent, Three is Marksman and the maximum. 

For example if you have a Ranged combat skill of 7 you have 4 points to spend.. one on Pistol, one on Shotgun and two on Rifle. Meaning you are a good shot with a Pistol and Shotgun and an excellent shot with a rifle. All your other gun skills are average.

The sections for Ranged combat are as follows:

Blades (knifes, shurikens, darts): With this skill you will be able to throw knifes with decent skill, Throwing Stars and the like are easier to use being bladed all round but cause less damage than a knife. Darts are best for delivering some sort of chemical to the target and cause the least damage on their own

Pistols: This relates to all small arms in its class whether that be a flare gun or a silenced 22. The damage of these guns varies widely depending on calibre

SMG (small machine gun): This counts all sort of small one handed machine guns. Low calibre but a fast rate of fire and very portable.

Shotgun: Sawn offs, pump action, Winchester to Autoloaders.. shot guns cause massive damage to a target at close range (for a gun) and can be used as rifles if you equip a solid shell instead of buckshot.

Rifle: Mainly used for sharp shooting and accuracy. High calibre, high accuracy, long range, low rate of fire.

Machine Gun: M19's, SA80's, AK's, Steyr's and anything else you can think off. Medium calibre, high rate of fire.

HMG (Heavy Machine Gun): Them big guns that everyone wants to play Terminator with. Devastating weapons that are cumbersome and hard to control.

Flamethrower: Duh!

RPG (Rocket Propelled Grenade): Missile Launchers and hand held grenade launchers all come under this category.

Close Combat Skills: Ok  like I said five is basically you probably haven't had a fight since you were a kid. You don't really know how to fight but you can make a decent try. The half point that you get for having a stat of 6 can buy you some skill in a form of fighting.. whether that be just basic, street fighting or some sort of martial form... One point will give you a black belt equivalency in some form of fighting. Close combat weapons also fall under this. If you want to be able to use a knife then you got to spend the point. You can have as many styles as you like and in the same way as with the Ranged combat skills you can put more that one point into the style. Three is the max in one skill. If you need help thinking of styles then just ask.

Technical Skills: Right there are too many technical skills to ever be able to list so I will give you an outline of the sort of things that come under this. Its pretty much everything that doesn't fall under Knowledge or social skills. But not stuff that every normal person can do. Its more advanced. Stuff like computer programming, interrogation, First aid, tracking, electrical engineering, advanced driving and so on. Like before you can have up to three points in the one skill to show your mastery of that Skill... for instance you will need the whole three points in medical to be classed as a surgeon as one would just be first aid, two would be in-between like a medical student. Please ask me about this if you find any difficulty selecting skills.

Intelligence (Knowledge): This is more speciality knowledge. Like qualifications, degrees and so on. You can have the knowledge but not the skill (technical skill or whatever). Things like Psychology, Criminology, Occult Knowledge. One is good knowledge, Two is excellent and three is expert.

Charisma (Social): With your charisma points you have gained from upping that stat you will be able to put them into the following Charisma skills. This will affect your social interaction with the NPCs and player characters in the game. The skills basically go as follows...

Looks: This is pretty obvious. Its how attractive your character is. 

Ability to fit in: Pretty much what you would expect. This is something you would need to go under cover. Its basically an air of self confidence that will help you to fit into most situations even though they may not be what you like or are good at. 

Bluffing: This is your ability to lie and bluff. You may be able to con people into believing things that you wouldn't be able to just by fitting in. 

Charm: This can come into play on several levels. You can talk your way out of a beating or seduce some one with this skill depending on its power next to that persons own charisma and will.

Negotiation: You can defuse hostile situations this way just out of negotiating something where using charm would normally fail. It will also aid you in arguments to reach a resolution.

 

Special Abilities

You have an option to use one of your Stat Points in another field that wasn't added to the list as it was too hard to limit or explain in such a small space. I will try to explain roughly what I mean but it will probably be better if you contact me with the special power you are looking for and I will tell you of the points you will need to have that ability.

Special Abilities refer to things that aren't the norm for an average human to have. This could mean telekinesis or telepathy, which would be worth high points. Or an unusual physical skill that you sets you apart from a normal person but doesn't really fit into the other skills. For example double jointed arms would cost you about 3 points... But something like Pyrokinesis is very high and will set you back 9 points.

 

Willpower bonus modifier

Hatred or Personal Enemy: You are aloud one personal enemy or hated "Other Races and Beings"  who you loath more that any other. Against this race you will have a +1 Willpower modifier. Against this race you will be more stubborn and less likely to give in... but on the down side you will be far less tolerant and willing to forgive and forget to the extent where you will become rash and impulsive and possibly make mistakes in judgement when it comes your enemy. 

You will find a list of potential enemies on the "Other Races and Beings" page. Which will also inform you of what they are like, plus strengths and weaknesses.
