My full name is Tamara Jeanne Mackintosh (pronounced Yanne). I was born on 10 August 1977 in the small town of Tumut, NSW, for those of you who don't know where Tumut is; it is set at the base of the snowy mountains. Tumut was also where I spent much of my early schooling while growing up until I reached year 7.
My father, Doug is a sales-distributor and my mother, Pam works as a Psyche Nurse at Toowoomba base hospital in ICU and also does shift work at Baillie Henderson.
I moved to Toowoomba at the beginning of 1990, where I attended Fairholme College, a private school which is coed from grades 1 - 4 and all girls from years 5 - 12, and boarding from years 7 through to 12.
I completed my schooling in 95', spent the first couple on years fiddling around doing a `Diploma/Certificate in Office Admin, Certificate II in Horticulture, before going on and doing a Diploma of Fitness Therapy at the Australian College of Natural Medicine, where I did two years of part-time study before taking a couple of years off to go back and re-do my year 12 equivalent, I was not happy with my OP score at the time.
Apart from my studies I have also been involved in sales, such as Homecare, Avon and my most recent job was working for a company call Dine-Rite, where I did cooking presentations. All this I managed to acheive dispite having to overcome various learning learning disabilities in my younger years.
It was no more than a couple of years ago that my life started to change when I was diagnosed with Asperges_Syndrome up until that point I had grown up always knowing I was different from many of my peers and have since been to see various specialists in regard to disability as well as my obsessive compulsive disorder. But the main turning point in my life came about after spending a few sessions with a colour therapist and a doing a couple of ten day meditation courses.
My hobbies and interests are: Natural Medicine, Music, ie, piano and guitar, art, cooking, running, weights, swimming and a bit of aerobics. I'm also interested Tai Chi, Tai Bo, reading, theatre and drama - partaking in some of the plays held by the Repartory Theatre Company. I was also involved in the musical `The Merry Widow'; in 2000.
My favourites types of music are: Classical, easy listening, rock/pop, regae, jass, dance techno, indigo, celtic, alternative and latin.
My favourite Movies are: Haven't really got a favourite movie. Basically I like movies like unbreakable with Bruce Willis, which focus on paranormal, Plannet of the Apes, Foreign Movies, such as, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Draggon, the occasional thriller. But I mostly prefer dramas, particularly Australian dramatised movies, such as Phar Lap, The Man from Snowy River and All the Rivers Run. I also really enjoyed the movie `Lantana' starring; Anthony La Paglia, Rachael Ward, Jeffery Rush, Peter Phelps and a host of well known Aussie actors as well as `The Nugget', starring Eric Bana, Belinda Emmet and `Cracker Jack" starring; Mick Molloy, Samual Johnson, Bill Murray,etc..
My favourite TV Shows are: Stingers, Water Rats, McLeod's Daughters, Third Watch, ER and All Saints.
