West quickly transitioned to become a recording artist and received accolades for his debut album, "The College Dropout," released in 2004. The album's critical acclaim and commercial success propelled West to win Best New Male Artist at the 2004 World Music Awards and the 2004 Billboard Music Awards.

"The College Dropout" went on to win several awards, including Best Rap Album at the Grammy Awards, while its single "Jesus Walks" earned Best Rap Song. Additionally, the song secured the title of Best Male Video at the 2005 MTV Video Music Awards. Building on his initial success, West's second studio album, "Late Registration" (2005), received an impressive eight nominations at the 48th Annual Grammy Awards. He took home three awards, making him the second artist ever to win Best Rap Album back-to-back and the first to win Best Rap Song in consecutive years. Furthermore, West was honored with the Best International Male award at the 2006 Meteor Awards.

Continuing his streak of accomplishments, West's third studio album, "Graduation" (2007), received eight nominations at the 50th Annual Grammy Awards. The album triumphed in four out of the five rap categories, solidifying West's position as the first solo artist to have his first three studio albums nominated for Album of the Year. West's fourth studio album, "808s & Heartbreak" (2008), garnered critical acclaim and secured a nomination for Album of the Year at the 2009 Soul Train Music Awards. In 2010, West released his highly acclaimed fifth studio album, "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy," which earned him the most nominations at the 54th Annual Grammy Awards, with seven nominations and four wins. He continued his successful streak with the collaborative album "Watch the Throne" (2011), a joint effort with Jay-Z, leading the Grammy nominations for a fifth time at the 55th Annual Grammy Awards and securing three wins.

Further showcasing his versatility and creative prowess, West's compilation album "Cruel Summer" (2012), released under his own label GOOD Music, received a record seventeen nominations at the 2012 BET Hip Hop Awards. His sixth solo album, "Yeezus" (2013), earned a nomination for Best Album at the 2014 NME Awards. West's achievements extended beyond music, as he won the Shoe of the Year award for the Yeezy Boost at the Footwear News Achievement Awards in 2015.
