Who are Sugar & The Boys
Sugar & The Boys is a trio created in 2018 consisting of Jake "Sugar" Anderson, Emily Burton, and Noah Hamblton.
They originally a Jazz trio playing mostly Jazz or Jazz renditions. They slowly made a transition into multiple
other genres adding to their vocabulary of styles whenever they have a chance. They often feature other artists primarily
saxaphone, guitar, and vocalists. The trios main instrumentation is Sugar on Bass, Emily on piano, and Noah on drums.
The group has realeased many covers as well as original songs most notebly is "Hunky Health Man". They received a
supirior rating at the Snow college Jazz combo festival in 2019. They have preformed less and less frequently as each member
has gone their own ways however they hope to continue playing well into the future.
Jake "Sugar" Anderson
Jake started playing bass in middle school and didn't play jazz until his senior year of highschool. Although they're
the face of the group Jake has the least experience playing jazz. They're the only one who still plays music profesionally
at the moment. Jake plays lots of gigs at they're university. They're a major in Information Technology and going into their
junior year. At the moment Jake works at the Financial aid office at their University. Jake enjoys playing videogames and
riding they're motorcycle. They're the personality of the band and often the one who leads the band. The band chose to put
Jake as the lead because they're outgoing and less socially awkward than Noah. Whenever Jake and Emily come back from school they
will play and occasionally do gigs.
Emily Burton
Emily has been playing piano since her youth being trained both Classicly and in Jazz. One of her largest
influences is Taylor Swift, often creating trio renditions of her songs for the band to play. After Highschool
Emily went to snow college to get a degree in music education. She got married early in 2020 to her husband Nate,
a saxaphone playing and music education major. Emily has recently changed her major to business and marketing.
Since making this change Emily has joined an instagram pyrimid scheme to get some experience in the feild.
She still enjoys playing, her and Sugar still try to stay in contact.
Noah Hamblton
Noah has been playing drums as long as he could walk. He is commonly seen as the bad boy and loose cannon of
the band, often yelling profanity and throwing his drum sticks at the audience. Noah is the most experimental
of the band members musically as well as life choices. He enjoys uncommon music practices as well as recreational
use of pharmacuticals. Noah has gotten in trouble for posting nude photos on instagram as well as other scandels. He
planned on joining the military after highschool and had the oppurtunity to do so. Noah has a strong belief in pratice
regarding both physical fitness as well as musical.
