Timothy Willcott

Tim is originally from St.
Alban’s on the south coast of Newfoundland, but now resides in the
Torbay area. He has graduated with a diploma in Marine Environmental
Technology (2000) and an advance diploma in Coastal Zone Management
(2001).
Currently he’s working with
the Oceans Programs Division with Fisheries and Oceans Canada. Here he
has worked on several integrated management initiatives including
ecosystem overviews for Placentia Bay and the Gulf of St. Lawrence and
is currently working on an interactive CD about integrated management
planning for Placentia Bay. In addition, he has worked on several
workshops and other educational information seminars such as Kids Day
and Oceans Day for the department.
Prior to working for the Oceans
Programs Division, he worked with the Environmental Response Division of
the Canadian Coast Guard and the Eastern Canada Response Corporation
where he worked as a spill response technician and created a database of
tanker traffic and a Tanker Operation Analysis report for vessels in
Placentia Bay. He has also worked with the former Petroleum Resources
Division of the Department of Mines & Energy for the Government of
Newfoundland and Labrador, where he helped organized the Department’s
involvement in the Newfoundland and Labrador International Offshore
Petroleum Exhibition.
