Bret Pilgrim

A Native
of Carbonear, NL, Canada, Bret is currently employed as the Coastal Zone
Management Analysts with the Newfoundland Aquaculture Industry
Association (NAIA). He is a graduate of Memorial University of
Newfoundland, holding a B.Sc degree majoring in Physical Geography. Bret
is also a graduate of the Marine Institute (MUN) where he earned an
Advanced Diploma in Coastal Zone Management, and Concordia University
where he obtained an Honors Diploma in Environmental Impact Assessments.
Bret
has gained valuable work experience in the field of coastal/marine
sciences through employment with several agencies such as the Department
of Fisheries and Oceans (BIO, Dartmouth, N.S.), the Waquoit Bay National
Estuary Research Reserve (Cape Cod Massachusetts), the Sea Education
Association (Woods Hole, Massachusetts), the RED Ocher Board (Northern
Peninsula, NL), and NarWhal Environmental Consulting Services. These
positions has afforded Bret the opportunity to work directly on ICZM
initiatives, MPA baseline work (Basin Head, PEI & Eastport, NL), GIS
application, Watershed Management and Education, Environmental
Management, and EIA. Bret is currently a voluntary member of the Coastal
Zone Canada Youth Forum Working Group.
