Welcome parents and families!  Here you will find resources and information about learning in 5th grade.  To begin, if you are interested in discussing internet safety with your children, I’ve found this site useful.   As you know, assessment is a valuable and important part of learning.  Much of my philosophy of teaching and learning can be found in my thoughts on assessment.  To learn about specific grading requirements, please visit the students' page.   An excellent resource to answer questions you may have on assessment can be found by visiting Understanding Test Scores - TeachersAndFamilies.  From time to time, I will update the parent page with useful information.  The 6Plus1 Writing Checklist gives you information on ways to support writing at home.  This not only supports what we do in class, but offers you ways to discuss writing as a family.  A less comprehensive, simpler model is available here.
