| Upon graduation from college, she sought employment in order to complement her theoretical studies with practical experience. She began working with G&W Architects, Interior Design Division, as a junior designer in 1993. After a year of service, she earned a promotion as a project coordinator, handling projects for major commercial clients. 1995 was the year Cynthia took and subsequently passed the Professional Regulation Commission's Board of Architecture examination for the Specialty Board of Interior Design. By 1996, Cynthia earned a major break by working as a project coordinator with the most promising architectural and urban planning firm of the country, Palafox Associates. Unhampered by the rigid structural restrictions present in established companies, she was able to explore her creative talents to the fullest, by gaining exposure in planning and architectural residential design. By 1997, she took on the responsibility of being the interior design team officer-in-charge (OIC). The trust and support of famed Arch. Felino Palafox, Jr. allowed her to further hone her abilities in corporate, hospitality, theatre and mall interiors. She was likewise handed projects for government structures, as well as institutional facilities, such as schools, a specialty eye hospital, a health and a daycare center. In 1998, Cynthia went into part-time freelance designing, refocusing on in-depth designing of residential interiors. She nonetheless devoted half the time working as an interior design consultant for Palafox Associates. With her insatiable thirst for learning, she further ventured into the less explored aspects of the profession. She self-studied interior design material specifications drafting and project management techniques. She likewise accepted the challenge of creating a corporate image and design standards manual for Maynilad Water and Sewerage, Inc.
