NATAHALA RIVER TRIP
(Feburary 2000)

In Febuary 2000 I went to Atlanta for a jewelry trade show. Yea Yea I know what do I know about Jewelry...............nothing................thats right ! But now I know a little bit more than I did in January. Actually my nephew Billy Clayton has a jewelry store in Meridian Ms. and he ask me to go with him. So I hooked up the wagon and took of to the big city of Atlanta. I was entirely out of my element, talk about country boy gone to the city. I am in jeans (faded) shirt tail out. no jewelry but a wedding band right up in the middle of these folks that are selling and buying millions of dollars in jewelry. Well anyway, after I bought a couple of hundred thousand dollars worth (RIGHT) I was out of money.
Anyway I got to looking at the map, and hey! from Atlanta to NC is only about three hours. So when I said my good byes I headed for the hills. This the first picture I took. I stopped at the Natahala River landing. It is where the buses come to drop everyone  off with their rafts so that they can begain there trip down the river.

They put the rafts into the river on the little cut on the left. Then when they are all set and ready. They paddle out into the main river and or on there way.

I had to run of the place, no traffic at all. The weather was wonderful. If you have a good eye check out the next set of pic's
