My name is Dianne Miller and for many years John Glover and I bred Rhodesian Ridgebacks
under the "Roughrider" prefix.
We were quite successful in our breeding program but as I got older I decided on a smaller breed.
In early 1989 we acquired Sid, our first Silky Terrier from a Top Kennel in the U.S.
My life has never been busier!

"CYGNUS", the latin word for Swan, was chosen as my kennel name.
A swan is the most graceful and beautiful bird on earth.

My kennel is very small. I breed ONE litter per year. All my dogs are shown by me until they have obtained their Canadian and/or American Championship.
If they enjoy showing and have the quality then John takes over and Specials them. One of John’s favorite groups to show in is the Toy Group and his effort with this breed has made the Silky Terrier
in Canada a consistently competitive breed.
Cygnus Kennel campaigned three dogs over a six year period in Canada....
they obtained a total of 420 Group placements, six All Breed Best in Shows
and were among the Top Ten Toys in the country, four times.
In Canada, our province (Ontario) alone offers you a choice of over 200 (2 or 3 day)
dog shows every year.

Good family homes are my first priority and show homes are a bonus!
