This event repeats every week. FREE! (Beginners Also Welcome!) Where: Meet in front of the Santa Monica Pier sign at intersection of Ocean Ave and Colorado Ave (North West Corner near the Cannon) (See Map with starting point below) Santa Monica, California Skate Hotline (310) 57-SKATE www.fridaynightskate.com Notes: The Friday Night Skate meets every Friday - at the Santa Monica Pier, EXCEPT once a month we meet in Hollywood!!! Everyone is welcome to join in the fun, this is not a private event. look at above website or call hotline for up to minute info on the skate event. (map of route bottom right side picture)You can bring your own gear or you can rent gear at one of the many places within a block or two of the meeting place. Also, people on bicycles have been known to join the skaters and have been welcomed by the skaters. Beginners come are regular occurrence and are welcomed to attend. 
Special Note to Inline Skate Hockey players: If you want to catch a pickup game of inline skate hockey. There is a pickup game in the parking lot about a half mile south of Santa Monica Pier. If you have trouble finding it, just ask the skate rental people where they are. They should be able to direct you.
