Head on down the Santa Monica Pier for the Summer Concert Series and you are bound to see several classics parked in rows. You want to go in the stage viewing area and look near the back of the viewing area for the lined up bicycles. There are often tons of tandems, folders and all sorts of unusual bikes. And the people that bring them seem to enjoy
talking to people about them. Come with your own bike or just come and see the other bikes and listen to the live bands
.And its ALL FREE!
All bicycles park Free on the Pier! (did I need to tell you that? hmmm)
The Santa Monica Pier's renowned Twilight Dance Series kicks off its 19th season of top-flight, big-name music on Thursday, June 26, 2003. The FREE concert series takes place on the Pier every Thursday from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. through August 21.

Pier's parking decks. Parking is available in all beach lots; catch a
ride on the Tide Shuttle from selected beach lots and Downtown Santa
Monica to the Pier for just 25 cents. For more information, call

I recommend riding your bike to the concert. Parking for bicycles is PLENTIFUL and FREE! And before and after the concert you can take in the sights riding the bicycle path or riding around downtown Santa Monica! Or you can park your bike at one of the many NEW "Artsy" Stainless Steel Bike Racks at the Transit Mall and have a stroll along the 3rd Street Outdoor Mall(AKA 3rd Street Promenade) and experience the Potpourri-impromptu mix of visitors and street Performers!
if riding the whole way is an obstacle, consider taking your bicycle with you (bikes ride FREE) on all the public buses (all or part way) servicing downtown Santa Monica! For example the "Rapid" #720 (a red MTA bus and it is Rapid too!) or the other MTA buses #20, 320, 33, 333, (#4 and 304 are notorious for not having bicycle racks but occasionally they do have bike racks), or any of the many Big Blue Buses, including the #3 (that connect with Green Line Metrorail and the LAX Transit Center) or #10 (that connects with Union Station and Downtown LA and the Redline Metrorail), or #7 that travels down Pico from downtown Santa Monica to past La Brea. or #8 that runs into Palms and Mar Vista and Westside Pavilion Most of those lines fun past 11pm or run 24 hours a day, but I recommend taking a look at their schedules. Last year, Parking(for cars) for the Twilight Dance Series was available at the south beach lots, with free shuttle rides between the Pier and the 2030 Barnard Way lot (park for just $3 after 6 p.m., $6 all day). The shuttle ran 6 � 11:30 p.m. (Save that parking money! by riding your bike! and you instantly have money to treat yourself to MUNCHIES at one of the many places to chow down in downtown Santa Monica! or you can use it to buy yourself a souvenir from one of the many shops! Or heck! You can even pick out a street performer or two that entertains you and drop them a buck or two to help support their craft and show your appreciation for the amusement they provide you!

The Santa Monica Pier's renowned Twilight Dance Series kicks off its 18th season of top-flight, big-name music on Thursday, June 27, 2002. The FREE concert series takes place on the Pier every Thursday from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. through August 29--with the exception of the July 3 concert, which will be held on Wednesday due to the July 4th holiday.
