Cyberport Got "Excellent" Rating from
HK-BEAM
The design of Cyberport 1, 2 & 3 (Cores A, B, C &
D) have been awarded an "Excellent" rating by the Hong Kong
Building Environmental Assessment Method (HK-BEAM) this July.
According to the Senior Manager (Construction) of Cyberport,
Cyberport achieved this highest rating since extra care has been taken
during the construction of Cyberport to provide a healthy indoor environment
and criteria of good practice for environmental issues regarding the design,
operation, maintenance and management of the buildings have been adopted.
The external building material of Cyberport's buildings have been carefully
selected/evaluated, also low-eglazing panels and double-glazing panels
have been incorporated into the curtain wall design such that the Overall
Thermal Transfer Values (OTTV) can be minimized and complied to the Building
Department's requirement. Moreover, sun-shading device and automatic blinds
have been incorporated in the building design to minimize solar heat gain.
This HK-BEAM scheme is owned and operated by the Centre
of Environmental Technology, Limited (CET), an independent, non-profit,
environmental information centre; the certificate of assessment was awarded
to Cyberport by the Business Environment Council.
